Alberta reports 1,651 new COVID-19 cases, 11 more deaths


The Alberta Health on Friday reported 1,651 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, said the Alberta Health completed 16,800 tests in the past 24 hours and identified 1,651 positive cases.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 11 more deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

She also added that 1,061 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 and 243 people are in Intensive Care Units.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw said 75.5% of the non-ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated while 91.7% of ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
