Alberta reports 464 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths


The Alberta Health on Wednesday reported over 460 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and four additional deaths due to the virus in the past 24 hours.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Alberta Health completed around 10,400 tests in the last 24 hours and identified 464 new cases of COVID-19.

She also added that 470 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Alberta, a slight decrease in total hospitalizations as compared to previous day.

According to Dr. Hinshaw, 70 per cent of 373 non-ICU COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 85.5 per cent of COVID-19 patients in Intensive Care Unit are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

The Albera Health on Tuesday reported 253 new cases of COVID-19 and ten additional deaths over a 24 hour period.
