Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, said the Alberta Health completed around 8,000 tests in the last 24 and identified 531 new positive cases.
Dr. Hinshaw further added that the Alberta Health continue to see a modest decline in hospitalizations.
There are currently 964 people in hospital due to COVID-19, including 218 people who are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.
“Pressure is easing a little on our health-care system, but we still have a very long way to go,” she added.
She also added that 12 new deaths were also reported to Alberta Health Services in the last 24 hours.
The Alberta Health on Monday reported 607 new cases of COVID-19 after completing around 7,200 tests over a 24-hour period.
