Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Alberta, said the health authorities identified the new cases by completing around 16,231 tests.
Currently, 504 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Alberta, Dr. Hinshaw said. There was an increase of six in hospitalizations due to COVID-19 as compared to previous day.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw, said 64 people are being treated in Intensive Care Unit for COVID-19 in Alberta, a number that remained stabled as compared to Thursday.
She also added that two additional deaths were reported due to COVID-19 in Alberta in the last 24 hours.
The Alberta Health on Thursday reported 4,869 new cases of COVID-19 and three additional deaths.
