Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Alberta, said around 10,700 tests were completed over the past 24 hours and 656 positive cases were identified.
Furthermore, Dr. Hinshaw, said 889 people are in hospital due to COVID-9, including 191 people who are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.
According to Dr. Hinshaw, 71.5% of the non-ICU and 87.9% of ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
“Sadly, 12 new deaths related to COVID-19 were also reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours,” she added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw, said more people maybe exposed to cold, flu, and COVID-19, with influenza season coming and the cooler weather keeping Albertans indoors.
