Autopsy completed in fatal hit-and-run incident: Edmonton Police


The Edmonton Police announced late on Tuesday that the Homicide Section continues to investigate a fatal collision following the completion of an autopsy which determined the cause of the death of the victim, crushing injury to the chest.

According to a statement released by Edmonton Police “At approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, Major Collision officers responded to a fatal collision between a male pedestrian and a vehicle, in the area of 129 Avenue and 126 Street.”

The statement further added “It was reported that a dark colored truck struck a pedestrian and then sped away. Paramedics performed life-saving measures on the 36-year-old man, however he was pronounced deceased on scene.”

“An autopsy was completed on May 27, 2021 and the cause of death was determined to be a crushing injury to the chest,” the statement said, adding that as the investigation is ongoing, no further information is available at this time.
