B.C. reports 500 new cases of COVID-19 and five additional deaths on Tuesday

B.C. is reporting 500 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and five additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

“On Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, B.C. is reporting 500 new cases of COVID-19, including 21 epi-linked cases, for a total of 210,203 cases in the province,” the Government of B.C. said in a statement.

The statement further added that 152 of the new cases were identified in Fraser Health, 48 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 121 in Interior Health, 103 in Northern Health, and 76 in Island Health.

The Fraser Health reported one death due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, Northern Health one, and Island Health three deaths.

There are currently 4,301 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 203,375 people who tested positive have recovered.

Of the active cases, 426 individuals are currently in hospital and 124 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

B.C. on Monday reported new cases of the novel coronavirus over a 24-hour period.
