B.C. reports 555 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 additional deaths on Wednesday


B.C. is reporting 555 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and eleven additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

“B.C. is reporting 555 new cases of COVID-19, including three epi-linked cases, for a total of 210,758 cases in the province,” the Government of B.C. said in a statement.

The statement further added that 197 of the new cases were identified in Fraser Health, 50 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 114 in Interior Health, 88 in Island Health, and 106 in Northern Health.

The Fraser Health reported 5 death due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, Vancouver Coastal Health 2, Interior Health 1, and Island Health 3 deaths.

There are currently 4,321 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 203,909 people who tested positive have recovered.

Of the active cases, 404 individuals are currently in hospital and 117 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

As of Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, 90.5% (4,195,116) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.4% (4,003,628) received their second dose.
