B.C. reports 749 cases of COVID-19, nine more deaths in last 24 hours


British Columbia is reporting 749 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 9 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

“B.C. is reporting 749 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 186,994 cases in the province,” the B.C. government said in a statement.

Currently, 145 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care, the statement said, adding that the ministry is unable to provide hospitalization numbers, active cases or recovered cases, given the holiday in the province.

However, these numbers will be available in tomorrow’s information bulletin, the B.C. Government said.

Furthermore, the B.C. Government said nine new deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, for an overall total of 1,962.

The B.C. Government also added that 88.0% (4,078,469) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, and 81.0% (3,756,363) have received their second dose.
