B.C. reports 758 COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in past 24 hours


B.C. is reporting 758 cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and ten additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

According to a statement released by B.C. Government, 329 of the new cases were identified in Fraser Health, 74 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 108 in Interior Health, 133 in Northern Health, and 114 new cases in Island Health.

The statement further added that there are 4,961 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 196,858 people who tested positive have recovered.

Of the active cases, 434 individuals are in hospital and 155 are in intensive care, the statement said, adding that the remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

The B.C. Government also added that in the past 24 hours, 10 new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,147.

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 8,202,550 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.
