Calgary Police investigating suspicious death of a man in Thorncliffe


The Homicide Unit of Calgary Police is investigating the suspicious death of a man in the Northwest quadrant of the city.

“Our Homicide Unit is investigating the suspicious death of a man, believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties, in the community of Thorncliffe,” the Calgary Police said in a statement.

The statement further added that the officers were called to the 6100 block of Thornaby Way N.W., at approximately 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, for a report of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, officers located a man deceased in a detached garage, the Calgary Police said.

The Calgary Police also added that the deceased male is not known to the occupants of the residence and we continue to investigate the events that lead up to his death.

The investigators are working to identify the man and notify next of kin, the Calgary Police said, adding that an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 17, at 9 a.m.
