Calgary Police release sketch of a man who sexually assaulted a woman on Canada Day


The Calgary Police on Friday released the sketch of a man who sexually assaulted a woman in a park on Canada Day.

According to a statement released by Calgary Police, the incident occurred on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at approximately 3 p.m., near a river on the north side of the Harvie Passage.

The statement further added that the suspect approached the woman who was sitting near the river and sexually assaulted her.

It is believed the man had sunscreen with him and began to apply it on her arms and thighs, without her consent, the Calgary Police said, adding that the victim stood up and left the area.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5’ 10”, with an average build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a tan-coloured baseball hat, black shorts and was not wearing a shirt or shoes. He also had a black mountain bike nearby.
