Canada to exempt fully vaccinated travellers from mandatory quarantine as of today


Canada will exempt the fully vaccinated travellers from mandatory quarantine requirements as of today.

Bill Blair, the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, said “As of 12:01 AM EDT today, fully vaccinated travellers already eligible to enter Canada will now be exempt from mandatory quarantine requirements.”

Blair further added “If you’re entering Canada via air, you will also be exempt from mandatory stay in an authorized hotel.”

He also added “Our border measures will always be based on the facts and the best scientific advice of our experts.”

Furthermore, the travellers who meet the requirements may also be exempt from day-8 testing requirement, according to Travel Canada.

Meanwhile, the Travel Canada said certain travel restrictions on who can can enter Canada still remains in place and foreign nationals (including US citizens) coming to Canada for non-essential reasons will be turned away at the border.
