Civilians, Taliban militants suffer casualties in a series of attacks in East of Afghanistan


A series of attacks inflicted casualties on Taliban militants and ordinary civilians in eastern Jalalabad city of Afghanistan.

Sources privy of the development said unknown gunmen opened fire on Taliban militants in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar, killing at least two militants and a civilian.

However, the Taliban group has claimed that the attack killed three civilians.

Three consecutive explosions, triggered by roadside bombs, took place a hour later, leaving at least two people wounded.

The eyewitnesses have said the explosions wounded a Taliban militant and local resident.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks but the offshoot of ISIS in Afghanistan has previously carried out attacks against Taliban militants in the country.
