COVID-19: Alberta reports 1,300 new cases, 13 deaths over a 3-day period

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, said the Alberta Health identified 284 new cases by completing 5,500 tests in the last 24 hours.

The Alberta Health identified 430 cases out of 9,000 tests on November 6, and 586 cases out of 11,500 tests on November 05.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 608 people are in hospital due to COVID-19. “Of the 473 non-ICU, 72.6% are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated. Of the 135 in ICU, 85.9% are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.”

She also added that 13 new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health Services since November 04.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw, said third doses of COVID-19 vaccine are now available to Albertans aged 70 and over, First Nations, Métis & Inuit individuals 18+, some healthcare workers providing direct patient care, & those who have received only viral vector vaccines.
