COVID-19: Alberta reports 1,592 new cases, 25 deaths over a 3-day period


The Alberta Health is reporting 1,592 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 25 additional deaths over a 3-day period.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, said the Alberta Health identified 368 new cases by completing 9,500 tests in the last 24 hours.

The Alberta Health identified 515 cases out of 8,700 tests on October 24, and 709 cases out of 10,800 tests on October 23.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 821 people are in hospital due to COVID-19. “Of the 639 in non-ICU, 71.7% are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated. Of the 182 in ICU, 87.3% are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated. :

She also added that 25 new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health Services in the last 72 hours.

The Alberta Health on Friday reported 656 new cases of COVDI-19 and 12 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
