COVID-19: Alberta reports 442 new cases and 12 additional deaths


The Alberta Health reported 442 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and tweleve additional deaths on Tuesday.

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health said the new cases were identified following the completion of about 7,800 tests.

Dr. Hinshaw further added that 826 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 183 people being treated in Intensive Care Unit.

She also added “Sadly, over the last 24hrs, 12 new deaths were reported to Alberta Health.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw, said there are currently active alerts/outbreaks in 242 schools in Alberta.

According to Dr. Hinshaw, two of the schools had 10 plus COVID cases who attended in the last 14 days while infectious.

The Alberta Health on Monday reported 1,592 cases of COVID-19 and 25 additional deaths over a 72-hour period.
