The Alberta Health reported 531 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and twelve additional deaths on Thursday.
Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health said the new cases were identified following the completion of about 10,200 tests.
Dr. Hinshaw further added that 779 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 185 people being treated in Intensive Care Unit.
She also added “Sadly, over the last 24hrs, 12 new deaths were reported to Alberta Health.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Hinshaw, there are currently active alerts/outbreaks in 254 schools. “Of these, 3 schools had 10+ cases who attended in the last 14 days while infectious.”
The Alberta Health on Wednesday reported 645 cases of COVID-19 and 10 additional deaths over a a 24-hour period.
