COVID-19: Alberta reports 645 new cases and 10 additional deaths

The Alberta Health Services says it identified 645 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 additional deaths in the last 24 hours.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the Chief Medical Officer of Alberta, said the Alberta Health identified the new cases after completing around 11,300 tests.

Furthermore, Dr. Hinshaw, said 810 people are in hospital due to COVID-19, including 184 people who are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.

According to Dr. Hinshaw, 72.3% of 626 non-ICU COVID patients and 87.5% of 184 ICU patients are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

“Sadly, 10 new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health in the last 24 hours. I extend my sincere condolences to all who are grieving the loss of a loved one today. ,” Dr. Hinshaw said.

The Alberta Health on Tuesday reported 442 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
