COVID-19: Ontario and Quebec report 1,147 cases and 5 additional deaths

Ontario and Quebec on Sunday reported 1,147 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 535 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, with 388 cases identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that the Ontario Health identified the remaining 147 cases in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 156 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 153 people are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.

The Ontario Health also confirmed that they have received reports of 2 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Quebec reported 612 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and 3 additional deaths.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec, said 296 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 80 people are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.
