COVID-19: Ontario and Quebec report 1,256 new cases and 4 additional deaths


Ontario and Quebec are reporting 1,256 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 4 additional deaths over a 24 hour period.

Ontario’s minister of health, Christine Elliott, said 654 new COVID-19 cases were identified in the last 24 hours.

Elliott further added that 464 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

She also added that 258 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 153 people are being treated in Intensive Care Units.

According to Ontario Health, 2 additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec, said 602 new cases of COVID-19 were identified over a 24-hour period in this province.

The ministry also added that 297 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 and 2 people died of the virus in the last 24 hours
