COVID-19: Ontario reports 340 new cases, 3 additional deaths in past 24 hours


The Ontario Health on Sunday reported 340 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 223 cases in individuals who are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that 117 cases were identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 104 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 133 are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.

However, she said all hospitals do not report on weekends.

In Ontario, 22,514,717 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 88.2% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 84.5% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Saturday reported 356 cases of COVID-19 and 4 additional death over over a 24-hour period.
