COVID-19: Saskatchewan reports 320 new cases, 5 additional deaths


Saskatchewan is reporting 320 new cases of the novel coronavirus and five additional deaths in the last 24 hour.

The Government of Saskatchewan, in a statement, said 5 of the new cases are located in the Far North West, 5 in Far North East, 43 in North West, 20 in North Central, 7 in North East, 69 in Saskatoon, 9 in Central West, 38 in Central East, 64 in Regina, 5 in South West, 10 in South Central, and 29 in South East zones.

A total of 333 individuals are hospitalized, including 249 inpatient hospitalizations, and 84 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 333 patients, 251 (75.4%) were not fully vaccinated.

Five new deaths reported today, the statement said, adding that 781 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died so far with a case fatality rate of 1.0%.

Saskatchewan on Saturday 411 new infections and 3 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
