Digby RCMP launch investigation after 14-year-old boy stabbed in Plympton


The Digby RCMP announced Tuesday they have launched an investigation after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in Plympton.

“On December 27 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Digby RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing near a roadway in Plympton,” the Digby RCMP said in a statement.

The statement further added that a preliminary investigation determined that an altercation took place between two youth who are known to each other.

A 14-year-old victim was transported to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries, the statement added.

A 17-year-old youth was released by the court to appear on January 24, 2022 in Digby Youth Justice Court to face the following charges aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats

The Digby RCMP also added that the investigation is ongoing.
