Edmonton Police identify victim of homicide who died blunt force trauma


The Edmonton Police on Tuesday identified the victim of central Edmonton homicide who died of blunt force trauma last week.

“An autopsy was completed by the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, and determined that Edgardo Vista, 57, died as a result of blunt force trauma. The manner of death is homicide,” the Edmonton Police said in a statement.

The statement further added that Northwest Division officers located the dead body of Vista as part of their investigation which they launched late on Thursday.

“At approximately 7:10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, Northwest Division officers were contacted about a missing male. As part of their investigation, officers attended a residence in the area of 113 Avenue and 91 Street, where they subsequently located the male deceased,” the Edmonton Police said.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton Police said the investigators arrested a 25-year-old Edmonton man, Geraldo Munroe, in connection with the incident, and charged him with second degree murder.

Investigators have confirmed the two men are known to one another, the Edmonton Police added.
