Edmonton Police investigating incident that left one person dead, one wounded


The Homicide Section of Edmonton Police has launched an investigation into a shooting incident which left one person dead and another individual wounded.

“The Edmonton Police Service is investigating the suspicious death of a male earlier this evening in south Edmonton,” the Edmonton Police said in a statement.

The statement further added the Southeast Division officers were called to the report of a shooting in the area of 23 Avenue and 106 Street, at approximately 9 p.m. this evening, Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021.

“EMS responded, treated and transported two injured males to hospital; however, one of the males succumbed to his injuries. The other male remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” the statement added.

The Edmonton Police also added that the EPS Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation and no arrests have been made at this time. An autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
