Edmonton Police issue warrant in connection to August death of Andrew Bellerose

The Edmonton Police issued a warrant late on Tuesday in connection to death of Andrew Bellerose.

“EPS Homicide Section investigators have issued a second-degree murder warrant for the arrest of Brookes Buffalo, 22, in connection to the death of Andrew Bellerose in August,” the Edmonton Police said in a statement.

The statement further added that at approximately 2:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, police responded to a trouble not known call in the area of 82 Avenue and 105 Street. Upon arrival, officers located Bellerose, 24, in critical condition.

Despite the assistance from citizens and paramedics, Bellerose succumbed to his injuries on scene.

An autopsy conducted by the Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed that Bellerose died from a stab wound, the Edmonton Police said, adding that the Homicide Section investigators have since determined the manner of death to be a homicide.

The Edmonton Police also added that Buffalo is known to frequent the Maskwacis area.
