Edmonton Police release sketch of man who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl

The Edmonton Police on Friday released a sketch of a man who reportedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl sexually in Silverberry Park.

“It was reported to police that on June 2, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 14-year old girl was approached by an unidentified male, while sitting alone on a bench in Silverberry Park near 30 Street and 31 Avenue,” the Edmonton Police said in a statement.

The statement further added that the adult male suspect then sat down beside the complainant and struck up a general conversation with her. “Suddenly, the suspect proceeded to sexually assault the girl over her clothing with his hands.”

“A physical struggle ensued for several minutes, while the complainant attempted to push the male away,” the statement said, adding that “The suspect eventually fled the scene on foot, walking northbound on 30 Street,”

The male is described as being between 20 and 25 years of age, 6’0’’ tall, average weight, lighter skin complexion, darker styled hair (longer on top and shorter on the side), according to Edmonton Police.

He is also described as possibly having a distinct freckle under his right eye, and a Rosary tattoo on his left shoulder area/chest.

The Edmonton Police also added that the suspect was wearing dark blue, ripped jeans at the time of the incident, had a slightly bloodied left knee, and walking with a limp.

Investigators are asking anyone who might be able to identify this suspect from the sketch drawing or description included to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
