Elderly man wanted in connection with sexual assault in Toronto


The Toronto Police issued a public alert on Wednesday after an elderly man sexually assaulted a woman in Midland Avenue and Danforth Road.

According to a statement released by Toronto Police, an elderly man, believed to 65-75 years old, sexually assaulted a 33-year-old woman late in the month of March.

“On Monday, March 22, 2021, officers responded to a call in a residential apartment building in the Midland Avenue and Danforth Road area,” the Toronto Police said in the statement.

The statement further added that the elderly man followed a 33-year-old woman, engaged her in conversation and sexually assaulted her in the laundry room located in the base of a building.

The man is described as 65-75 years old, medium build, grey/white hair, wearing a dark suit jacket, dark pants and black shoes, the Toronto Police said, adding that the suspect had a ring on his index finger.

The Toronto Police also issued a security camera image and said anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-4100, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
