Homicide Section of Edmonton Police investigating death of Sobiah Ahmad

The Edmonton Police Service announced Thursday that the Homicide Section is investigating the suspicious death of Sobiah Ahmad, 25, who went missing Dec. 28, 2020.

Homicide Section assumed responsibility for the investigation in April of this year, after her body was discovered, the Edmonton Police said in a statement.

“This investigation has a lot of complexities, which is why we haven’t been able to speak publicly about it until now, said EPS Homicide Staff Sgt. Don Curle.

The Edmonton Police further addednthat details surrounding the cause of death and the location where Ahmad’s body was found are being withheld, at this time, for investigative purposes.

Sobiah Ahmad, 25 was last seen on Dec. 28, 2020 in the Chapelle neighbourhood in southwest Edmonton.

The Edmonton Police also added anyone with information regarding this suspicious death investigation is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
