The Calgary Police arrested a man shortly after he stabbed two people at a building complex in Southwest quadrant of the city.
According to a statement released by Calgary Police, the police were called to a building at 10623 West Valley Road S.W. at around 12:40 pm on Friday, for reports that a man in the building was tabbing people.
The statement further added that the building complex contains residences, offices, a church and daycare.
“Officers located the suspect in the residences and were able to deescalate the situation to the point that he surrendered,” the statement said, adding the police found two male victims injured and transported them to hospital.
One was in serious condition and the other was in serious but stable condition, the Calgary Police added.
The Calgary Police also added that the motivation for the stabbings is still under investigation and the identity of the man cannot be released until he is formally charged.
