Manitoba reports 809 new cases of COVID-19 and six additional deaths over a 3-day period

Manitoba is reporting 809 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and six additional deaths over a 3-day period.

The Manitoba Government in a statement said the health authorities identified 276 cases on Saturday, 333 cases on Sunday, and 200 cases on Monday.

The statement further added that the Interlake-Eastern health region reported 36 new cases, Northern health region reported 67 new cases, Prairie Mountain health region reported 57 cases, Southern Health-Sante Sud health region reported 163 cases, and Winnipeg health region reported 513 new cases in the past three days.

A male in his 70s from the Interlake-Eastern health region, a female in her 60s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud region, and a male in his 60s from the Interlake-Eastern health region, died of the virus on Saturday.

A male in his 80s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud region, and a male in his 70s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud region, died on Sunday.

A male in his 50s from the Prairie Mountain health region died of the virus on Monday.

The Manitoba government also added that 2,183 cases are active in the province, and 68,041 individuals have recovered from COVID-19.

Currently, 137 Manitobans are hospitalized with COVID-19 including 86 people with active COVID-19 as well as 51 people who are no longer infectious.

A total of 27 Manitoba patients receiving intensive care for COVID-19 including 21 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 as well as six people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care.
