Many people sustained injuries after fire ripped through an apartment building in Toronto city earlier this morning.
The Toronto Police said they received reports regarding black smoke and flames coming from the roof of the three story apartment building located at Leeds Street and Ossington Avenue.
The Toronto Police also added that several people were transported to hospital with serious injuries and Red Cross was attending to assist with providing shelter to survivors.
Meanwhile, Acting Fire Chief, Jim Jessop, tweeted the fire swept through the multi-unit apartment at 828 Shaw Street.
Jessop told reporters that 11 people were rescued from the apartment building.
He also added that four people were taken to hospital with one of them being in critical life-threatening condition.
