Newfoundland and Labrador reports over 300 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24 hour period


The Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting over 300 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

“Today (Wednesday, December 29), Newfoundland and Labrador has 312 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the last social media update on December 28,” the Newfoundland and Labrador government said in a statement.

The statement further added that there have been 44 new recoveries, including 15 in the Eastern Health region, 11 in the Central Health region and 18 in the Western Health region.

A total of 2,239 people have recovered, the Newfoundland and Labrador Government said, adding that there is no one in hospital because of COVID-19.

There are currently 1,111 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, including 791 in Eastern Health, 128 in Central Health, 39 in Labrador-Grenfell Health, and 151 in Western Health.
