One COVID-19 related death, 105 cases reported in Saskatchewan


Saskatchewan is reporting 105 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and one additional death due to the virus over a 24 hour period.

The new cases are located in the Far North East (2), North West (7), Saskatoon (46), Central West (9), Central East (7), Regina (22), South Central (4), and South East (3) zones, the Saskatchewan Government said in a statement.

The statement further added that a total of 91 individuals are hospitalized, including 61 inpatient hospitalizations and 30 ICU hospitalizations.

Of the 91 patients, 52 (57.1%) were not fully vaccinated, the Saskatchewan Government added in its statement.

According to Saskatchewan Government, 627 cases are considered active in the province and 80,871 cases are considered recovered.

The Saskatchewan Government also added that one new death reported today. 944 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
