One COVID-19 related death, 126 new cases reported in Brunswick


New Brunswick is reporting 126 new of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and one additional death due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

“Today, 92 people have recovered from COVID-19 and there are 126 new cases of the virus, with the active number of cases at 1,003,” the New Brunswick Government said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the New Brunswick Public Health confirmed a person 60-69 in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) has died as a result of COVID-19.

Another individual aged 30-39 in Zone 1 (Moncton region) who had COVID-19 died of non COVID-19 related reasons.

Thirty seven of the new cases were identified in Zone 1 (Moncton region), 20 new cases in Zone 2 (Saint John region), 38 new cases in Zone 3 (Fredericton region), 11 new cases in Zone 4 (Edmundston region), 4 new case in Zone 6 (Bathurst region), and 16 new cases in Zone 7 (Miramichi region).

The New Brunswick Government also added that over the past seven days, hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have continued to trend downward in New Brunswick, while the number of cases in intensive care units remains stable.

There are 11 people in intensive care and another 21 are in hospital for a total of 32 people hospitalized. Of those in hospital, 18 are over the age of 60 and five people are on a ventilator. There is no one 19 and under hospitalized.
