Ontario reports 10,436 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday


The Ontario Health on Wednesday announced that the health authorities have identified 10,436 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Three additional deaths due to COVID-19 were also reported to Ontario Health in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 726 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario, the provincial health minister Christine Elliott said.

Elliott further added that 190 people are being treated in Intensive Care Unit for COVID-19.

The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 related patients in ICU is 174, Elliott added.

In Ontario, 26,815,586 vaccine doses have been administered, with over 176,000 doses administered yesterday.

According to Elliott, 90.7% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 88.1% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Tuesday reported 8,825 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24 hour period.
