Ontario reports 10,732 new cases and 43 deaths due to COVID-19

Ontario is reporting 10,732 new cases of COVID-19 and 43 additional deaths due to the virus in the past 24 hours.

Provincial Health Minister Christine Elliott said 3,957 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.

Elliott further added that 53% were admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 and 47% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.

She also added that 78% of patients admitted to the ICU were admitted for COVID-19 and 22% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.

In Ontario, 29,337,677 vaccine doses have been administered, with over 157,000 doses administered yesterday, Elliott said, adding that 91.3% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 88.7% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Friday reported 10,964 new cases of COVID-19 and 42 additional deaths.
