Ontario reports 11 additional deaths amid rise in COVID-19 cases


The Ontario Health on Friday reported 11 additional deaths amid rise in the new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the province identified 226 new cases of COVID-19 after completing 21,000 tests in the past 24 hours.

Elliott further added locally, there are 62 new cases in Toronto, 35 in the Region of Waterloo, 24 in Peel Region, 13 in York Region, 13 in Hamilton and 13 in Halton Region.

This comes as Ontario on Thursday reported that the province has identified 218 new cases of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Elliott said the province has administered 19,377,608 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as of 8:00 pm on Thursday, including 83,907 doses administered yesterday.
