Ontario reports 13,578 new cases of COVID-19


Ontario is reporting 13,578 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 1,232 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.

Elliott further added that 248 individuals are currently receiving treatment in Intensive Care Unit.

The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 related patients in ICU is 210., she added.

However, she said the hospitalization numbers are not final as all hospitals do not report on weekends.

In Ontario, 27,422,363 vaccine doses have been administered, with over 89,000 doses administered yesterday.

Elliott also added that 90.8% of Ontarians 12+ have 1 dose & 88.2% have 2 doses.

The Ontario Health on Sunday reported 16,714 new cases of COVID-19.
