Ontario reports 25 COVID-19 deaths with a slight increase in new cases


Ontario on Wednesday reported 25 additional deaths with a slight increase in new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said the province identified 733 new cases of COVID-19 out of 31,800 tests performed over the past 24 hours.

According to Elliott, the Ontario Health Agency identified 173 of the new cases in Toronto, 134 in Peel, 69 in York Region and 66 in Hamilton.

The Ontario Health reported 25 additional deaths on 2nd of June, a considerable increase in numbers as compared to 1st of June when the province reported 9 deaths.

Meanwhile, Elliott said the Ontario administered 9,342,121 doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
