Ontario reports 3,453 new cases of COVID-19 and ten additional deaths

Ontario is reporting 3,453 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

The Ontario Health also reported ten additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Provincial Health Minister Christine Elliott said 805 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

Elliott further added that 148 of the new cases were identified in individuals who have an unknown vaccination status.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 22.8% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 805 of Ontario’s 3,453 new reported cases. 148 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status,” Elliott said in a statement posted on Twitter.

She also added that 412 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 303 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 109 are fully vaccinated.

Currently, 165 people are in ICU due to COVID-19. 128 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 37 are fully vaccinated.

In Ontario, 25,629,533 vaccine doses have been administered, Elliott said, adding that 90.5% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.9% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Monday reported 3,784 new cases of COVID-19 and zero additional deaths.
