Ontario reports 378 new COVID-19 cases and 5 additional deaths


The Ontario Health reported 378 new case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 8 additional deaths on Wednesday.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said 236 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination.

Elliott further added that the remaining 142 cases were identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 237 people are in hospital due to COVID-19, including 174 people are who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

137 people are in Intensive Care Unit with 125 not fully vaccinated or having an unknown vaccination status.

In Ontario, 22,552,851 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 88.3% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and nearly 84.7% have two doses.
