Ontario reports 3,784 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday


Ontario is reporting 3,784 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 865 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

Elliott further added that 138 cases were identified in individuals who have an unknown vaccination status.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 22.9% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 865 of Ontario’s 3,784 new reported cases. 138 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status,” Elliott said in a statement posted on Twitter.

She also added that 284 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 164 people are in ICU due to COVID-19.

However, she said not all hospitals report on COVID-19 hospitalizations on weekends.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said in Ontario, 25,422,938 vaccine doses of COVID-19 have been administered. 90.5% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.8% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Sunday reported 4,177 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths.
