Ontario reports 4,790 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday


Ontario is reporting 4,790 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.

Provincial health minister, Christine Elliott, said 3,861 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.

Elliott further added that 615 people are receiving treatment in Intensive Care Unit for COVID-19.

However, she said the hospitalization numbers are not final as all hospitals do not report on weekends.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said in Ontario, 30,100,272 vaccine doses have been administered.

She also added that 91.6% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 88.9% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Sunday reported 5,833 new cases of COVID-19 and 56 additional deaths over a 24 hour period.
