Ontario reports 563 coronavirus cases, 5 additional deaths

The Ontario Health on Friday reported 563 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 314 cases in individuals who are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that 249 cases were identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 255 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 129 are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.

168 non-ICU patients are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 57 are fully vaccinated, and 117 in ICU are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 12 are fully vaccinated.

In Ontario, 22,585,340 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 88.4% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and nearly 84.9% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Thursday reported 438 COVID-19 cases and 5 additional deaths.
