The Ontario Health on Thursday reported 641 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.
Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 397 cases in individuals who are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
Elliott further added that 245 cases were identified in fully vaccinated individuals.
She also added that 251 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 187 of them being not fully vaccinated or having an unknown vaccination status, while 64 fully vaccinated.
132 are being treated in Intensive Care Unit, Elliott said, adding that 114 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 18 are fully vaccinated.
In Ontario, 22,668,228 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 88.6% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and nearly 85.3% have two doses.
The Ontario Health on Wednesday reported 454 COVID-19 cases and 9 additional deaths.
