Ontario reports 653 new COVID-19 cases, 6 additional deaths


The Ontario Health on Sunday reported 653 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 6 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said 499 of the new cases have been identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that the remaining 154 cases have been identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 198 people are hospitalized with COVID019.

Furthermore, Elliott said 177 people are in ICU due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said 21,651,850 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario so far.

Sh also added that 85.8% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 80.2% have two doses.
