Ontario reports 677 new COVID-19 cases, 7 additional deaths in the past 24 hours


The Ontario Health on Thursday reported 677 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 7 additional deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours.

Ontario’s Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, said 529 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

Elliott further added that 307 people are in hospitals due to the COVID-19, including 273 people who are not fully vaccinated or having an unknown vaccination status.

Furthermore, Elliott 193 people are receiving treat in the intensive care units with 181 of them being not fully vaccinated.

She also added that 34 fully vaccinated people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 and 12 fully vaccinated individuals are in intensive care units.
