Ontario reports 704 COVID-19 cases, 7 additional deaths

The Ontario Health on Saturday reported 704 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 7 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

Ontario’s Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, said 506 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that the remaining 198 cases have been identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 274 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 243 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 31 are fully vaccinated.

162 people are in ICU due to COVID19, Elliot said, adding that 155 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and seven are fully vaccinated.

According to Elliott, 21,847,046 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario. Nearly 86.4% of Ontarians 12+ have received one dose and nearly 81.2% have received two doses.
